The problem
Insurance submissions arrive as a mix of PDFs and spreadsheets. Before underwriters could clear a submission, someone had to read the documents and re-enter the data. A single submission could take hours.
What I built
- A React micro-frontend for document ingestion and clearance, released independently inside the wider platform.
- Schema-driven forms and reports. The review screens are rendered from JSON Schema, so they adapt to each document type without custom UI code.
- A workflow state machine that moves every submission through clear states and connects to the legacy IMS and Raters systems.
- PDF / Excel upload
- Java API extraction
- Structured data
- Schema-driven review UI
- Clearance workflow
Simplified pipeline.
- New
- In Progress
- Blocked
- Ready for Review
- Declined
Workflow states every submission moves through.
Results
- < 2.5 minper submission, down from hours
- Schema-drivenreview screens adapt to each document type
- 5 statesin a workflow connected to legacy IMS and Raters
This was client work under NDA. Diagrams are simplified redraws, and no client data or screenshots are shown.
